The Great Weather Lottery
The Weather Lottery plc helps organisations like Disability Essex to raise funds for special projects and general development through their exciting daily Lottery. Members of the Lottery get four chances to win up to £10,000 for just £1 per week. (That's only 25p per day.) You could help Disability Essex raise much needed funds every time you play! The Weather Lottery operates daily from Monday to Thursday. There will be the addition of a Summer Super Draw to be held on Friday 3rd August 2007 with a jackpot of £100,000.
How does it work?
It works in a similar way to the National Lottery – but you get four chances a week to win up to £10,000 for only £1.00!
The Weather Lottery is fun, and easy to play. Simply select a line of six lucky numbers (between 0 – 9) to play in our daily game (4 days a week, Monday – Thursday). Each line costs £1 a week and you can have up to 3 lines. The last digits of the recorded Fahrenheit temperatures for six locations in the world, as reported in the Daily Telegraph each day, are taken and entries are scanned to see who has won. Unlike the National Lottery, the jackpot is not shared. If you are successful in matching 6 numbers, you always get £10,000 (or £100,000 in August).
Set up a standing order for 1, 2, or 3 lines a week and then simply wait to see if you have won a prize!
How are the numbers drawn?
The winning numbers are obtained by taking the last digit of the temperature in Fahrenheit, in six world cities, Corfu, Istanbul, Tenerife, Innsbruck, Edinburgh and Stockholm as reported each day Monday to Thursday in The Daily Telegraph.
How much does it cost?
It is simple, there’s no hidden catch, and costs as little as 25 pence per day to enter with a convenient monthly standing order mandate. Or if you prefer, you can pay by cheque, in advance.
How does Disability Essex benefit?
Out of the £1 a week you pay, Disability Essex receives 80p from the game. After prizes have been paid, 35p is available for us to use towards our charitable services.
How do I know if I’ve won?
You don't even have to check the numbers yourself as you're notified automatically when you're a winner! If you do want to check your numbers, then you can always visit www.theweatherlottery.com
