Accessible Vehicle
Disability Essex has a growing fleet of adapted vehicles providing outreach health services in the County.
In partnership with the medical equipment charity ASET, Disability Essex obtained two sets of advanced diagnostic and measurement equipment. Our first adapted minibus (see picture below) was fitted out as a mobile diagnostic vehicle and the outreach blood pressure monitoring service was initially piloted in Brentwood.
Further funding, from the Big Lottery and Lloyds TSB, has ensured the continuation of this service within our Healthy Arts Project.
Another vehicle has been acquired with a view to extending this successful initiative even further.
