Training for Mobility Scooter Users

Half day course, covering the Highway Code, the practical considerations of owning and maintaining a mobility scooter, together with guidance on safe driving and awareness of, and consideration for, other pavement and/or road users. The course can be delivered at our Rochford training centre or, subject to size of group, at venues across the County.

Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme (MiDAS)

The CTA accredited Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme course consists of individual driver assessment and up to two classroom sessions requiring three days training overall. A standard MiDAS driver course, lasting two days, is also available for those who do not require disability awareness training. It is designed for line managers; coach and minibus drivers and MiDAS training department personnel.

Access Auditor

13 weeks, covering Disability Awareness and Equality; Technical Standards; Buildings, Regulations and Documentation; Computer and IT, Business Skills and Practical Auditing. Level 3 qualification awarded by NCFE upon successful completion.

Disability Equality Duty

5 days. Covering requirements of Disability Equality Duty, together with practical assistance in writing a Disability Equality Scheme relevant to the needs of the student's employers. No qualification awarded.

Train the Trainer

10 days. Includes the Disability Equality Duty course, but goes on to suggest how to implement the Equality Scheme and train staff in Disability Awareness and Equality. Level 2 qualification awarded by NCFE upon successful completion.

Basic Disability Awareness for Staff

Half day course provided at client's premises. Covers the practical details of how staff can, and should, be aware of the needs of clients with a disability. No qualification.

Basic Disability Equality for Managers

One day course provided at client's premises. Covers the practical details of why staff should be aware of the needs of clients with a disability and how a business could improve its turnover. No qualification.

Course venues can be arranged to suit the client and will also depend on the number of students. This may incur additional costs related to the tutor's travel costs, together with the cost of hiring a suitable training centre.
