Description:

A support group run by parents for parents and carers of children with a diagnosis of ADHD or an autistic spectrum disorder, or who are being assessed for the above. The group offers support and advice to bring parents and carers together to share experiences and reduce isolation. We have a qualified group facilitator and professional guest speakers are also invited to help with new stratergies for coping. They also offer individual support sessions to cover specific difficulties associated with ASD and ADHD that can not be effectively covered in group sessions. Free creche is available for pre-school children of people attending the Angels meetings in Hitchin, Stevenage and Royston.

The group is open to all adults with Aspergers or High Functioning Autism. We meet weekly in term time and have activities such as table tennis, badminton, table football, board games etc. During the morning we also have a structured time for discussionss and have addressed topics such as employment, personal hygiene, depression, living with Aspergers etc. The group aims to help develop peoples social skills and social networks, create a safe area where people are able to be themselves and discuss issues relevant to them in a structured and informal environment.
