Organisation Type:Children and Youths-Adoption
Description:
Essex Social Services recruits and supports foster carers to look after children. Fostering means caring for children who are not your own, sometimes for a few days, a few months or years. Anyone who can provide care and commitment to a child can foster -- married or unmarried with or without a partner, with or without children working or not working. Foster carers are provided with training, on-going support and a fostering allowance. The amount of support depends on the age and needs of the children being fostered. Adoption is a way of becoming the legal parent of a child or children who cannot live with their birth parents or other members of their extended family. For both adoption and fostering the minimum age is 21. Single people as well as married couples can adopt. They do not discriminate on the grounds of class, race, culture, sexual orientation or disability but you must be able to meet the needs of the children we have waiting for adoption.Adoption Support (1004555)
