Train to be an Access Auditor
Disability Access Auditors give advice on compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA). They need an awareness of disability law, building and construction requirements, together with customer and provider needs - balancing what is 'reasonable' with what a company can afford and what customers are entitled to expect.
These are Level 3 vocational courses, accredited by the National Awarding Body (NCFE) and are open to students with no formal building or architectural training. They are aimed specifically at disabled people who are currently economically inactive (unemployed or taking early retirement) and who are seeking to return to employment, as well as individuals at risk of redundancy due to the onset of disability.
Successful completion of this course may lead to full professional registration with the National Register of Access Consultants (NRAC) as an Access Auditor. Previous courses achieved a 70% success rate for students.
Fees are available on request. Specialist courses, for companies or individuals who seek re-skilling whilst still employed, can be arranged.
